I couldn’t have asked for a better traveling day…fortunately everything went smoothly, all of my flights we on time and I didn’t miss any! Oh and my luggage was in Budapest when I arrived…Yay! My flight left Tampa at 2:00 PM, had a 2 hour layover in Detroit. I wouldn’t book anything LESS than 2 hours, the international terminals for Delta in Detroit are ALL the way down at the other of side, kind of a hike. In the Delta terminal, there is a tram that takes you from one side of the terminal to the other but, I didn’t realize it until it was to late. I needed the exercise, my next flight was 8 hours to Amsterdam.
The flight to Amsterdam was great, I slept through most of it. They served dinner with wine so that helped me relax enough to get some sleep. When I arrived in Amsterdam, I had another 2 hour layover. This airport is HUGE, I don’t suggest just 2 hours, I would recommend no less than 2.5 hours. By the time I went through customs and arrived at my gate, I had just enough time to use the restroom and board my next flight to Budapest.
The flight to Budapest was only 1.5 hours, which was nice because I was ready to finally be there. When I arrived in Budapest and got my luggage, which didn’t take long, as I walked out of the terminal an Avalon representative was there to great me. When the group was all there, waited maybe about 10 minutes, we were then escorted to our transfer.
